Health in Time

This is the best and at the same time the worst possible time to talk about this.
Health. How many times have we heard the saying health is better than wealth. But the important question is do we follow it.
3 deaths of people whom i knew, my own aunt hale and hearty passed away at 71 less than two weeks ago and 2 of my friends fathers lost their lives last week. It a sad thing but the positive is that they passed away in peace without causing trouble to others and more importantly themselves.
The question still ponders, looking at our lifestyle will we even reach that age. Junk food, Inhaling smoke day in and day out, the occasional smoke, or that drink every Saturday night, will take us no where but closer to pain and agony when the fat lady sings.
Today i went for blood donation and felt giddy as soon as the normal 8 ml blood was removed for tests forget the full 400 ml. Made me feel miserable. This aint the first time i am donating, but this is surely the first time when the nurse had to hold my hand and guide me to the couch which seemed quite blurry and out of my range. To make me feel good and sooth my mental state, the nurse said it happens at times as its too hot and i havent had any food. But then too some where down in my heart i know the real reason for this state of my body. Constantly sweating even in the air conditioned blood bank and loosing my balance on removal of just 8 ml of blood, opened my eyes and its high time it opens up yours too.
Writing this in good faith for those who really matter to me and just a simple promise to take care of your health and avoid the wrong things which might affect us a little later.

Zomato Review. (true and honest)

Talk about food or going out to dine, a thought which first occupies the mind is where??
The answer is quickly given by ZOMATO.. A local place to hang out with or a proper dinner with etiquettes or just a couple of drinks with friends.. Zomato is like a magic wand which answers all the queries related to food and drinks. Not only in and around your vicinity but also making it presence felt globally is commendable. The android application which has made life very simple for all us foodies out there is like a cherry on the cake.
I have been closely associated with Zomato since the 1 year now. Where I wanted to work for Zomato but a better candidate got the last offer available. So I basically know quite a few things about this amazing company started just 5-6 years back. Now present in 13 countries in the world. The transition of foodebay.in to Zomato.com was a superb thing to happen to the Indian as well as global foodies hub.
The best part is, the true reviews about all the places along with the menu options and the photos clicked by people visiting the places has really helped million of food lovers like me. Plus the approx. cost of two is like a miracle taking place.
I have not yet come across any cons, shortcomings or disadvantages of using Zomato.
In simple words, food is redefined by taste and Zomato helps you find the right taste.

Lets make this a Better Place

Shot straight from the heart

HOPE
        TRUST
                (-----)
                     FAITH
                               LOVE

Passion is something which is meant to be discovered, i have discovered mine and its to make a difference. Difference to the lives which we live, to the lives which others live. Why to beg for something which we deserve. Why to ask for something which is already ours. This is my country, our country, why should i live like an alien like a complete stranger.

I have HOPE that this will become a better place to live,
I have TRUST in the people, in the constitution, in the system that it will improve,

I have FAITH in myself and in the
people who form the society and last but not the least
I LOVE this place which has made me what i am today, competent in the society.

Its us who would lead this change. From the very beginning, from the lowest level. Lets all hold hands and make this a society full of love, a beautiful place to stay.
How long would we keep blaming the system for things not being in order, lets drive the change.
Start from simple things, dont litter on the streets, feed the poor, teach the uneducated, help the old people while crossing a street, or to board a bus, such small things form your character.
When the Fat lady sings, your bank account balance, the international degree hanging on the wall, the posh car in the alley of your villa would be of no use. The good deeds, the helpful testimonials would be priced a lot higher than the materialistic gains.
We are the youth and solely responsible for driving a change. Stop the blame game, Lets all hold hands and make this a better place to live.

The Flip side (real side)

Is this the life that we asked for or ordered?
Definitely not!!!!
Completing an MBA was a matter of pride and honor and the respect that came along with that degree was humongous. Those days are long gone. The only thing which comes with an MBA degree now is pain and agony and disappointment. Being treated like salesmen, left jobless for months. Whats the use of doing a professional course if this is the way we all were to be treated.
Knocking doors in the afternoon and being shooed away like stray dogs... This is an assistant sales manager
Cold calls to unknown potential clients who can barely talk in English and being abused - this is an associate manager
In the scotching heat selling bank accounts outside a bank - this is a relationship executive of an XYZ bank
The respect and honor is long gone, the question is do we even have some dignity left ? What about our huge egos and self respect?
Why are we being bobbed down by situation where as we should be standing upright with a sky of confidence on our shoulders.
A advice to all the junior post graduates, who are or will pursue jobs soon. Maintain your dignity and work with pride rather than participating in the RAT RACE!!!

Learn to enjoy life, the living part will automatically happen.

His experiments with truth

My Insight on Gandhi…

It was a very difficult task to judge and describe the character of Mahatama Gandhi in mere a few words, and the task become all the more difficult as I had to describe him reading the first section. As the first section only talks about his personal life and doesn’t give much on managerial learning

To be very frank I don’t believe in Gandhi ji a lot. I am not a follower of his ideas as I truly believe his ideas of non violence are not applicable in today’s environment.

But it is imporatant on our part to let the process of learning go and never end. We should be smart enough to learn and grasp from things which we don’t believe and follow too. MY EXPERIMENTS WITH TRUTH.. the book written by Mahatama Gandhi talks about his various phases of life and the challenges that Gandhiji took up in his life fighting against unjust.

The important overall learnings from the first section which I found out was… Always believe in yourself and follow your heart. Gandhiji later became an icon and the Father of the nation but during his childhood he had also done things which he was not so proud of. A few being eating meat and smoking and also stealing, the other important lesson to be learnt is, If you have done some bad deed, be prepared for the consicequences, be brave enough to accept your mistake. Telling the truth is also equally important. As it is very commonly said you don’t have to remember what you said if you are telling the truth.

So to summarize I can say the most important things that I learnt from the first section of Gandhiji’s autobiography was to believe in yourself, have faith and never to lie. If we follow these simple principles we surely will attain success in life

Fire burning on the feet..

This is a real life incident which happened in feb 1999 that’s more than 12 years old.
My full family including my uncle, aunt cousins had planned to visit lonavala over the weekend to take a break from the hectic and exhausting city life. We had intended to stay at my dad’s friend’s bungalow celebrating a long weekend. Friday was un-eventful, the same story of kids shouting over corn and visiting monkey point and irritating the hell out of us elder cousins. (I was 11 then but was also one of the elder kids as the others were 7 and 8 years old) every one can imagine how irritating kids can be.
We were planning to leave Lonavala on Sunday morning so that we could rest the day out and prepare our self for the boring set of weekdays to follow.
We had not expected that Saturday to unfold many events, unfortunate ones.
I call it the “JINXED” Saturday. In the morning my aunt was boiling water for drinking purpose and she was standing very close to the gas stove and she while busy gossiping didn’t realize that her sari had caught fire and was literally in flames. Quick thinking by my uncle saved her, who poured water on her in the nick of time.
Afternoon soon followed when one of elder cousin who had gone to buy some stuff from a shop came limping back. We soon realized that a car ran over his feet leaving him badly bruised.
It didn’t end there. How can a story end without a bang!!! We had decided to have a born fire or a camp fire late in the evening in our compound. We collected dry wood and somehow managed a bottle of petrol to help us light up the woods. My dad was pouring petrol on the woods when someone lit a match stick, they didn’t realize that the bottle was too close to the lit stick and the bottle caught fire, the bottle was thrown away by my dad. It took some time to realize that there was no harm caused as yet by the fire and that the woods had not been lit. Once again my eldest cousin picked up the bottle and decided to pour the petrol completely over it and then lit a stick, which sounded like a good idea. As soon as he inverted the bottle to pour petrol, there were flames on the dry wood, and again the same thing happened. The bottle caught fire, and my scared, dumb, idiotic, stupid brother who wanted to become a hero, kicked the bottle hard.
Poor me I was quietly standing in a corner of the compound waiting for the fun to start. Never had expected to get so much fun at my expense.
Boom!!! I had no time to react and the bottle of petrol came flying towards me. It fell a good 2 feet away from me but the petrol in the bottle came flying out and caught my leg. I was wearing polyester trousers which added fuel to the fire and it didn’t take time for everyone to realize that my right leg had caught fire. I was running around the compound shouting and trust me it completely seemed like a bollywood flick but the only difference being, me experiencing the pain rather than watching it from the other side of the screen.
Somehow the fire was extinguished and we all were preparing for a very long night ahead. Symbolizing a typical Indian woman, my mother fainted at the sight of my leg being in a very bad condition. Her emotions and tears would have left all the actors of the ‘k’ serials by Ekta Kapoor gasping for breath. The night followed was very painful. No doctors and no options but to use traditional methods like cooling it by applying potato skin on the wound. Somehow the long wait ended and the next afternoon we returned back to Mumbai
This incident it like a decade old but I still do have marks on my leg which remind me of that eventful night. Though painful but I got a lot of publicity after this incident….. J

FRIENDSHIP...

It cannot be just a dream,
As I’m sure you’ll for real.
Don’t know what the future has in store for us,
Selecting vivid paths or catching a different bus.
The feelings we share are not fake,
Blissful memories with us we take.
Promise is what we make,
Some day we bake the same cake.

So many weird thoughts running at the same time,
You will always be the best friend of mine.
Too many cooks spoil the food,
But being together set’s up our mood.
We will never leave each other alone,
Just like the relation of blood and bone.

We'll soon be old,
But will never give up being bold
Funny like always the way it is,
Memories and the days spent together I miss.
Cherishing the memories of teenage,
Reading the book of life again page by page.
I just love the way you are,
Sipping late night coffee at a bar.
But when needed always caring like a mother.
Abusing, fighting beating the shit out of each other,
White hair, but still flirting being brave,
We’ll always celebrate despite sitting on our grave.

Friends obviously make my life,
Even more important than the hottest gal as my wife ;)
Amongst us do never lie,
Enjoy these days giving hi five’s

THE BEST THING TO HAPPEN TO HUMAN BEINGS ‘FRIENDSHIP’
